“Hey Pop, how ya feeling?”

“I’m doing good Sonya, they got us at this base in Ohio, it seems pretty safe. How are you doing in Florida?”

“It’s a war dad, not really much going on besides killing.”

“Yea, that’s what I expected to hear. Do you know when you’ll be able to leave?”

“I don’t think I can leave. The entire area is covered with those demons, we wouldn’t make it their alive…” Sonya said as a pause went over the phone, “How’s Viv?”

“She’s great. Wish you were here to help her with growing up. I don’t know much about this, you practically raised yourself since your mom passed. Vivian’s going through that phase, y’know.”

“Yea I know, I wish I was there too. Vivian’s becoming a young woman, she’s going to need her space…”

“Dad…you…hear?” The phones began to static.  “No, Pops! Please hear me! I’ll be there soon! I love you! Tell Vivian I love her too! Hello? Hello?” A long beep occupied the phone’s reception. She slammed the phone down, she began to look down as a tear began to fall, “I’ll be there soon, just wait on me.”
